This page is here for info and background but applications are now closed.

This page contains information for people who might be interested in being part of the stewarding group that will support the Transformational Governance learning process during 2022-23.

We are seeking expressions of interest, via this short 5 question form, by 17:00 GMT on Thursday 27th January.

If you’re interested in participating but have a challenge with the brief as it's currently written, please get in touch and have a chat with one of the current stewarding group. We are keen to understand, and hopefully find ways to dismantle, barriers to participation - email: [email protected]. We also invite your questions about any part of the process - if you add them as comments to this document we will respond in the FAQ section at the end of the brief.

Important: This is the first invitation to take part in the next phase of the Transformational Governance journey. There will be a second call for learning participants a little later in 2022. For that, we’ll be inviting joint applications from pairs/teams from groups and organisations committed to actively experimenting with transformational governance in their contexts and sharing their learning with others.

Context

The Transformational Governance inquiry intends to learn about, bring attention to, and support more transformational governance in civil society in the UK. We want to contribute to this by creating a well held, resourced inquiry space for those exploring the transformational edges of governance, both within organisations that hold power and resources, and within groups and networks who have the least access to mainstream power and resources.

This intention was scoped by a stewarding group during 2021. Rather than moving immediately to a full proposal, the initiating group requested development funding to connect with others experimenting in this field, test our assumptions and take a little time to find a strong starting point; bringing greater diversity and new possibilities into the collaboration. We held exploratory events and conversations and then drafted and consulted on this proposal for the next phase of the project. Please read the proposal and supporting documents to understand more about why we are focusing on governance and what we want to do next. Lankelly Chase confirmed funding for the proposal in October 2021.

We are reviewing and adjusting the stewarding group at this stage to find a good mix of people to steer the project through its next phase.  We welcome expressions of interest from people who are excited by, and see themselves as able to contribute to, the shared purpose and intentions of this inquiry.

Purpose

The purpose of the stewarding group is to move forward, design and support the overall Transformational Governance inquiry and learning process, while deepening practice and learning on the topic.

This is an opportunity to deepen learning and practice of collective leadership and transformational governance, contributing to the field through creating enabling conditions and infrastructure for transformational governance.

Stewarding group activities

The intention is for this to be an enriching experiencing, a great learning and professional development opportunity.
